La news est officielle Yahoo abandonne son service de partage de photos Yahoo Photos et concentre maintenant ses efforts sur Flickr acheté il y a deux ans. Comme le précise USAToday, c’est une belle victoire du web 2.0 sur le web 1.0.
Yahoo Photos will be shut down by the fall. Users will be directed over a three-month period to transfer their images to Flickr or other photo sites such as Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery, Snapfish or Photobucket. Yahoo says it will make the transition easy, with a one-click transfer process.
Un regroupement légitime pour contrer Photobucket qui a a priori 40% du marché du stockage de photos online…
Par ailleurs il y a une très très grosse rumeur de fusion entre Yahoo et Microsoft aujourd’hui… Affaire à suivre donc.
